Hi! I am a doctoral student at the Whitehead Lab, in Dalhousie University. My Ph.D. research if focused on describing and analyzing the rhythmic structure of deep-diving whales. Specifically, I'm interested in universality in rhythmic structures and the role of culture in shaping the temporal structure of vocalizations. To answer these questions, I'm exploring the vocalizations of sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) and northern bottlenose whales (Hyperoodon ampullatus).
Additionally, I am passionate about science education and am particularly interested in strategies to teach coding and statistical analysis that is inclusive and welcoming. This is why I started a YouTube channel dedicated to introducing R programming and statistics for Spanish speakers - R Con Anita. |
